New Interface From Intel Can Read Your Thoughts

We’re all lazy, and if we could have it our way, we’d just sit back and finish all our computer work with our arms folded. While that’s far from the reality today, Intel might be trying to help us achieve just that, as the chip giant is working on mental telepathy methods for man-to-machine communications in conjunction with Carnegie Mellon. Basically what they’re trying to do is come up with an interface that can map your brain’s electrical neuron activity, and decode those signals with the help of fancy algorithms. You’d have to wear some sort of headgear, which would detect and translate these signals which will be transmitted to another machine. Are we moving closer to ditching the keyboard and mouse? It’s probably a tiny step forward, but a step that is certainly welcomed.
